Arsenal have been dealt a blow with the news that Mesut Ozil expects to be out of action for around another seven weeks.

The playmaker was diagnosed with a knee injury while on international duty with Germany in October and was initially ruled out for three months.

Manager Arsene Wenger had suggested that Ozil could be set to return sooner than the initially anticipated period.

But the 26-year-old World Cup winner has now revealed that he expects to be out for another seven weeks.

“I have already been out for five weeks and will be out for another seven weeks,” said Ozil.

“That is a really long time but that is the way it is in football sometimes. My head is held high and we look forward.”

How much have Arsenal missed Mesut Ozil?
