Neville and more: Twitter reacts to Oscar’s sublime Chelsea strike
Phil Neville and Michael Owen take to Twitter to hail Oscar's strike in west London derby
Phil Neville and Michael Owen were quick to take to Twitter to praise Oscar after the Chelsea midfielder broke the deadlock in the London derby with a brilliant strike.
The Brazil international used the outside of his foot to bend a world-class finish past Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Rob Green in the 32nd minute at Stamford Bridge.
Unsurprisingly there was a huge reaction to Oscar’s stunning effort, and here is a selection of our favourite social media reaction from the professionals, past and present.
Former Manchester United full-back Philip Neville (@fizzer18) is quick to tweet about Oscar’s goal: “Brilliant finish/technique from Oscar”
England legend Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) knows all about clinical finishes in the penalty area: “Sublime finish from Oscar with the outside of his foot to give Chelsea the lead.”
Ex-Everton midfielder Peter Reid (@reid6peter) is writing tomorrow’s headlines for Oscar: “Oscar over & out, magnificent.”
Republic of Ireland international Sean St Ledger (@seanstledger12) must be thankful he doesn’t play in the Premier League: “Stop that Oscar!”
Former Chelsea star Mario Melchiot (@MarioMelchiot) talks us through the goal: “As a kid u learn to use the inside of your foot, when you master that they teach u how to use the outside. #oscar perfect expl #mmlove #CFC”
Finally, Liverpool legend Michael Owen (@themichaelowen): “The finishes from Oscar and Wanyama were pretty tasty!”
