Danny Welbeck headed a second-half winner as Arsenal beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0 at The Hawthorns on Saturday.

The England international rose highest to head in Santi Cazorla’s cross in the 60th minute after brilliant play from the Spaniard.

The victory hoisted Arsenal up to fourth place in the Premier League table before Saturday’s other kick-offs.

The lunchtime Premier League clash prompted plenty of activity on Twitter – and here are some of our favourite post-match updates.

Injured Arsenal forward Mesut Özil (@MesutOzil1088) is a happy man: “Good job guys! Three very important points! #WBAvAFC #COYG #BPL @Arsenal.”

As is Alexis Sánchez (@Alexis_Sanchez), who played the full 90 minutes at The Hawthorns: “Come on arsenal, big win today!!!! Thanks to the fans once again! #AFC”

Defender Calum Chambers (@CalumChambers95) is pleased with a clean sheet as his impressive start to life at Arsenal continues, with the teenager posting the selfie above on Instagram: “Another clean sheet and a fantastic result for us today, let’s keep this momentum going! Thanks to all you travelling fans for your support.”

Defender Per Mertesacker (@mertesacker) was thrilled to have his defensive partner Laurent Koscielny back alongside him: “Good to have you back with us Lolo ! And big thanks to the fans for a strong away support. #COYG #WBAvAFC @Arsenal”

And finally, celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) happily accepts the result: “Scrappy old game but I’ll take an away win. #afc.”
