Mesut Ozil is focusing on a return to action as the Arsenal midfielder continues his rehabilitation from a knee injury.

The Germany international isn’t expected to feature for the north London side until early January after rupturing ligaments in his knee.

Arsenal have struggled in the absence of their club-record £42.5m signing, winning three of their last six games without the World Cup winner.

And the 25-year-old, who moved to the Gunners from Real Madrid in 2012, posted a cryptic photo on Instagram on Wednesday night.

Earlier on Wednesday, Ozil backed Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to get the best out of the former Schalke playmaker.

“He (Wenger) knows what he wants and I know he can bring me a step forward; he trusts me in that way and I trust him, completely,” Ozil is quoted as saying.

“For a team, it (a trophy) is the biggest thing to get and we got it (last season with the FA Cup), but as a player, there are other things – being the best player in the world, other cups, the Champions League.

“For now, I am not making any plans for after my career. I am just really happy to be here.”
