Chelsea legend hails the west London side's big three points ahead of Manchester derby
Didier Drogba has hailed Chelsea’s “important three points” ahead of Sunday’s Manchester derby.
The Blues moved nine points clear of defending Premier League champions Manchester City thanks to a 2-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers.
And Drogba, who was a late substitute against the Hoops, was thrilled to see Jose Mourinho’s side pick up a crucial three points in the title race.
Drogba wrote on Instagram: “Important 3 points before tomorrow’s derby in Manchester. @oscar_emboaba goal of the weekend 3 points importants #premierleague #topoftheleague #cfc #blues #blueisthecolor #Stamfordbridge”
Oscar broke the deadlock in the 31st minute with a superb individual strike which beat Hoops goalkeeper Rob Green.
In-form QPR striker Charlie Austin set up a dramatic conclusion to the derby when the 25-year-old scored a 62nd-minute equaliser.
However, the Premier League leaders extended their 100 per cent home record thanks to Eden Hazard’s penalty with 15 minutes remaining.
And a thrilled Oscar posted on Instagram:“Very happy to score and help #Chelsea to win this battle!”
