The Liverpool defender is closing in on a return from his knee injury
Jose Enrique has revealed that he played 45 minutes in a behind-closed-doors game at Liverpool’s training ground on Friday.
The Spaniard has been struggling with a knee injury this season and has made only two Premier League appearances.
However, the left-back appears to be closing in on a comeback after confirming that he was back in action at Melwood this week.
Enrique posted the picture above on Instagram and wrote: “Happy to play 45 min in a closed door game today at melwood. Feeling great and my knee feeling perfect. Thanks a lot for the support.”
Enrique, who could return to first-team action against Crystal Palace after the international break, missed most of the 2013-14 Premier League campaign due to a long-standing knee problem.
The defender has scored two goals in 110 Premier League appearances for the Reds following his £7m move from Newcastle United in 2011.
