Suso enjoyed some time off on Sunday ahead of Liverpool’s game against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on Tuesday night.

The Reds midfielder isn’t expected to feature against the Champions League holders after undergoing a groin operation at the start of the month.

However, the Spain Under-21 international appeared to hint that he would be in Madrid to support his team-mates as the Reds gear up for their must-win game.

“Enjoying my day off having some food before we go to Madrid tomorrow for champions league” Suso wrote on Instagram.

Brendan Rodgers backed his side to get a “good result” against Madrid despite a 1-0 loss to Newcastle United on Saturday.

“Playing Real Madrid in the Bernabeu is a wonderful game for us and we are still in with a chance of qualifying. We know it’s a big ask against probably the best side in the world,” Rodgers said.

“There are pressures every game and there is always that expectancy at Liverpool, which is probably the case at only a few clubs. It’s there every game but we understand and accept that. We will go into that game on Tuesday and the players will have the confidence back.

“We will get back to working well on the training field and hopefully we will get a good result.”
