Wayne Rooney took to Instagram to celebrate having reached 100 England caps on Saturday evening.

The Manchester United captain featured for his country for the 100th time and got on the scoresheet as Roy Hodgson’s men ran out 3-1 winners over Slovenia at Wembley.

Rooney scored a penalty, before Danny Welbeck’s brace wrapped up the three points for the Three Lions.

The 29-year-old forward posted the picture above of himself with his wife and two sons after the game and wrote: “Great to win today and proud to have reached 100 caps for @england.

“Amazing to walk out with my sons, won’t ever forget it. Thanks to all the fans for their support today and over the last 100 games!”

Rooney has scored 44 goals in his 100 games for his country.
