Steven Gerrard has taken to Instagram to quash reports of a bust-up with Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers.

Reports in the British media on Sunday claimed that the pair had fallen out after Rodgers opted to start Gerrard on the bench for Saturday’s 1-0 win over Stoke City at Anfield.

However, Gerrard used the photo-sharing website to emphatically reject the reports.

The veteran midfielder posted the picture above on his account and wrote: “Just to set the record straight media talk of a fall out between us 2 is NONSENSE ..have a nice Sunday#together#solid#ynwa.”

Gerrard came on as a second-half substitute as Liverpool beat Stoke on Merseyside on Saturday thanks to Glen Johnson’s late header.

Speaking after the game, Rodgers explained his decision to leave Gerrard out of his starting line-up.
