Wayne Rooney has taken to Instagram to revel in Manchester United’s “big” 2-1 win at Arsenal.

Arsenal came close to breaking the deadlock in the first half but Jack Wilshere wasted the home side’s best chance from close range.

And Gunners left-back Kieran Gibbs gave United a helping hand when he deflected the ball past his own goalkeeper in north London.

Red Devils captain Rooney doubled the home side’s lead in the 85th minute before Olivier Giroud scored a late consolation strike.

And the 29-year-old United striker took to social media to heap praise on his team-mates after the Red Devils moved into the top four.

“Big win tonight @manchesterunited!!” Rooney posted on Instagram.

Rooney has scored four goals in nine Premier League appearances this season.

Young wrote: “Brilliant team performance, great feeling to win away at Arsenal. Think the photo says it all…#MUFC”

Will Man United finish ahead of Arsenal?
