Jose Mourinho was among the spectators as Roger Federer turned on the style to thrash Andy Murray 6-0 6-1 at the ATP World Tour Finals on Thursday night.

The Chelsea manager, whose side are flying high at the top of the Premier League table. was pictured smiling in the stands as he enjoyed some downtime during the international break.

Federer needed just 56 minutes to secure an utterly dominant win over the British No1 as he sailed through to the semi-finals of the tournament at London’s O2 Arena.

Mourinho was interviewed by Sky Sports during the match as Murray was heading for defeat, and said: “There are days when we feel it’s not our day, whether it’s football or tennis.

“Even if it looks like it’s going to be hard to beat Roger tonight, just give your best. Sometimes a bad defeat is the beginning of many many victories.”

The defeat was Murray’s worst result since losing 6-1 6-0 to Novak Djokovic in Miami seven years ago.

Chelsea, who are unbeaten in all competitions so far this season, take on West Bromwich Albion at home in their next Premier League fixture on 22 November.

Pippa Middleton was also among the spectators in North Greenwich to see the straight-sets thrashing.
