Jack Wilshere took to Instagram on Friday morning to criticise a journalist for an article written about the Arsenal midfielder.

The England international has been ruled out of action for around three months after requiring surgery following a tackle from Manchester United’s Paddy McNair last weekend.

Wilshere appeared to take offence to a story written by Richard Innes, and hit back at the journalist via two posts on the social network.

Wilshere posted the picture above and wrote: “We all know the media like to talk nonsense, not all of them, but most! And most of it I can take…however after being shown an article in @DailyMirror saying I have ‘Worlds most Brittle ankles’. @bigrichinnes clearly doesn’t know what ‘brittle’ means, as this picture clearly shows’ most people/players would have broken their ankle if someone tackled them like this.

“Luckily I have ‘loose joints’, not brittle’ and only damaged ligaments. #Fool #GetTheFacts.”

The 22-year-old then followed up his post with another photo (below), and wrote: “Here’s another one for you @bigrichinnes please feel free to challenge what I’m saying! #LazyJournalism.”
