Raheem Sterling reveals Brendan Rodgers's best piece of advice
Raheem Sterling has revealed the best piece of advice that Brendan Rodgers has given the Liverpool forward.
The 19-year-old has blossomed into one of the Premier League’s standout talents under the guidance of the Liverpool manager.
The best piece of advice I’ve been given is to live, eat and sleep football
Sterling, who scored nine goals in 33 top-flight games last season, earned a place in England’s World Cup squad this summer.
While Rodgers has helped Sterling to improve tactically, the Reds teenager says the manager’s advice to completely immerse himself in football has made a lasting impression.
“He has taught me to play in numerous different positions and adapt to different positons, being able to work and be effective in each of them,” Sterling told LFC Xtra.
“The best piece of advice I’ve been given is to live, eat and sleep football. It was great advice given to me by the manager, and it has helped me going forward.”
Asked where he hopes to be in five years, Sterling replied: “Hopefully winning trophies with Liverpool, doing well for England and trying to be at the peak of my game at that time.”
