Santi Cazorla heaped praise on Alexis Sanchez after the Chilean helped fire Arsenal to a 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night.

The Chilean scored his 13th goal of the season in the 57th minute at Emirates Stadium after Yaya Sanogo had give the Gunners the lead in the second minute.

And Cazorla was full of praise for the 25-year-old summer signing after helping Arsenal qualify for the Champions League last 16.

“Alexis is very important for us,” said Cazorla. “He is in good form for the team and I hope he continues to play the same. He’s a very important player for us.”

Cazorla also reserved praise for Sanogo, after the French striker netted his first goal for the north London club.

“The first goal was important for us,” he added. “Sanogo played very well today and had a good combination with me.

“The most important thing was that he scored it and that’s very, very important for the team.”
