Steven Gerrard tells Jamie Carragher to stop criticising Liverpool defence
Steven Gerrard isn't impressed with his former team-mate's criticism of Liverpool defence
Steven Gerrard has jokingly warned former team-mate Jamie Carragher to stop criticising the Liverpool defence.
The Reds legend has been one of the Merseyside outfit’s biggest critics in recent weeks as Brendan Rodgers’s side continue to leak goals.
In particular, Carragher and his Sky Sports colleague Gary Neville have been critical of Reds goalkeeper Simon Mignolet and summer signing Dejan Lovren.
While the Liverpool captain has enjoyed watching his former team-mate excel in a punditry role, Gerrard is hoping Carragher eases up on his team-mates.
“He’s doing terrifically well as a pundit but it’s no surprise because his knowledge of the game is fantastic and he always spoke well about it as a player,” Gerrard told Sky Sports.
“He’s my best mate in the game but he has loads of bad habits. I can’t really get into lots of them but his main one at the moment is criticising our defence, so he needs to stop that!”
