Tottenham moved up to seventh place in the Premier League table thanks to a 2-1 victory over Everton at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Kevin Mirallas gave Everton the lead in the 15th minute in north London with a stunning strike.

Christian Eriksen equalised for Spurs six minutes later, and Roberto Soldado wrapped up the victory with his first goal of the season.

Sunday’s late kick-off prompted plenty of activity on Twitter – and here are our favourite updates.

Robbie Savage (@RobbieSavage8) questions Tim Howard after Eriksen draws Spurs level: “1-1 could howard have done better ???”

Former Spurs chairman Lord Sugar (@Lord_Sugar) is pleased for the Spaniard: “At last a goal for Soldado well deserved 2-1.”

England legend Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) is also delighted for the former Valencia man: “Good to see Spurs finally giving the Soldado they bought from Valencia a chance, rather than that imposter that’s been wearing the shirt.”

Arsenal legend Ian Wright (@IanWright0) echoes the duo’s sentiments: “I’m absolutely delighted for Soldado!”

Mario Melchiot (@MarioMelchiot) adds to the praise for the Spaniard: “Goal. Finally!!!! #soldado needed a that and it could be the start of goals. #SpursvEverton #mmlove”

Peter Reid (@reid6peter) feels that the Toffees looked a bit jaded: “Thought @Everton looked a bit of the pace.”
