Thibaut Courtois has described Chelsea skipper John Terry as the best captain he has ever had.

The Belgian shot-stopper lined up with the veteran centre-half for the first time in his career this season after he returned from his loan spell at Atletico Madrid in the summer.

And Courtois has been thoroughly impressed by the defender’s leadership skills at Stamford Bridge.

“John is a player with a lot of authority,” said Courtois.

“When he’s in front of you, he’s a real leader in the dressing room and on the pitch.

“I have to say he’s maybe the best captain I have ever had. He’s a real captain and it’s so good.”
