Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino happy to have striker headache
Tottenham Hotspur manager is pleased with the form of Harry Kane
Mauricio Pochettino is happy to have three in-form strikers to choose from ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s trip to Aston Villa.
Harry Kane was on the score sheet as Spurs eased to a 2-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion in the League Cup on Wednesday.
It is good for him to prove from learning with Soldado and Adebyaor
The England Under-21 international has scored six goals in his last six appearances in all competitions this season.
However, Spurs manager Pochettino has used Kane as an impact substitute in the Premier League despite calls for him to start the 21-year-old.
But the former Argentina international refused to drop a hint whether he would go with Kane for the trip to Villa Park or stick with Emmanuel Adebayor.
“We have a lot of games and we have a lot of games ahead,” Pochettino said.
“In every competition, we need to win. And sometimes you decide to pick different players in different competitions.
“But it’s true that the competition in front with Adebayor, Soldado and Harry Kane is very tough but I am very happy with Harry, I am very happy with Roberto and Ade.
“It’s true that they need to improve like the other teammates but I think we are in a good way.”
He added: “I think [the competition] is a good thing for all of them.
“Harry is young, Roberto and Ade have a lot of experience and I think the energy Harry brings to the squad is important – it is good for him to prove from learning with Soldado and Adebyaor, sharing the training sessions and when they are in the team.”
