Tottenham’s Jan Vertonghen takes to Twitter to taunt Arsenal
Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen winds up Arsenal fans on Twitter
Jan Vertonghen incurred the wrath of Arsenal supporters after the Tottenham Hotspur defender took to Twitter to post about their rivals’s 3-3 draw with Anderlecht.
The Gunners surrendered a three-goal lead as Anthony Vanden Borre scored from the close range and the penalty spot before Aleksandar Mitrovic’s last-gasp leveller.
And Spurs centre-half Vertonghen couldn’t resist an antagonistic tweet aimed at their north London rivals after Anderlecht’s rousing comeback at Emirates Stadium.

Vertonghen wasn’t the only Belgium international following Anderlecht’s exploits at The Emirates as Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany was an interested viewer.
The 28-year-old, who made 102 appearances for Anderlecht before joining Hamburg in 2006, tweeted his shock as Mitrovic scored a late equaliser.

As if he hadn’t already irritated Arsenal supporters on Twitter, Vertonghen retweeted his Belgium captain, too.
