Van Gaal delivers latest Man United injury update ahead of Arsenal game
Louis van Gaal reveals Radamel Falcao is two weeks away from featuring for Manchester United
Louis van Gaal has revealed that Radamel Falcao won’t return to the Manchester United side until mid-December.
The Colombia international is still recovering from a niggling calf injury after the striker made his comeback from a long-term knee problem earlier this season.
And United manager Van Gaal told MUTV that the 28-year-old loan signing should be ready to participate in first-team training on Sunday.
“Van Gaal tells #MUTV that @Falcao “has a new injury” and is at least two weeks away from a first-team return,” Man United’s Twitter account posted.
“To clarify, ‘new injury’ refers to Falcao’s recent calf problem. The word ‘new’ was used to distinguish this from a previous knee injury.
“Louis van Gaal confirms Falcao will return to full training with the first team on Sunday.”
The Red Devils manager ruled out Rafael da Silva and Phil Jones for the clash against Arsenal at The Emirates on Saturday evening.
“Louis van Gaal has confirmed that #mufc defenders Rafael and Phil Jones are unavailable for selection against Arsenal,” Van Gaal continued.
Van Gaal added that Jonny Evans could make his return from injury in the club’s reserve game against Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday.
“The boss says Jonny Evans may play for the Reserves in their game against Blackburn on Tuesday as part of his recovery,” Van Gaal said.
