Xherdan Shaqiri added a couple more millions to his price tag on Saturday night after the Switzerland playmaker scored a brilliant strike against Lithuania.

The Bayern Munich midfielder has been heavily linked with a switch to the Premier League in recent months as he continues to struggle to break into Pep Guardiola’s side.

Arsenal and Liverpool, who fought over Alexis Sanchez’s signature in the summer, are thought to be leading the race to sign the 24-year-old midfielder.

The out-of-favour Bayern man has scored one goal and made two assists in eight Bundesliga appearances this term, although he has only started three games.

And Shaqiri gave fans of both clubs a glimpse of what he could add to their sides as the Bayern star converted a deft back-heel to seal a 4-0 win.

Switzerland’s emphatic victory helped them leapfrog Lithuania into third place in Group E, although they remain six points behind leaders England.
