Gary Neville gives Jack Wilshere a light telling off
Jack Wilshere was taught a lesson in atmosphere by Gary Neville after the England coach instructed the midfielder to take out his earphones during a pre-match walkabout on the Celtic Park pitch.
The 22-year-old Gunners star was listening to some tunes ahead of the Three Lions’s clash against bitter rivals Scotland in Glasgow on Tuesday night.
However, former England and Manchester United defender Neville spotted Wilshere with his earphones in, telling the Arsenal playmaker to switch off the music and soak up the electric atmosphere.
And the ex-Red Devils right-back’s advice appeared to be sound after the England midfielder produced a delightful ball to tee up Arsenal team-mate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for the opener against Scotland.
Neville’s scolding of Wilshere prompted a flurry of Twitter activity, including a funny post from Irish bookmaker Paddy Power.
There's Gary Neville making Wilshere take his earphones out so he can have word about that terrible, terrible hair. https://t.co/8MbQvudES2
