Video: Man United’s Ander Herrera lands great basketball shot

Manchester United midfielder tries his hand at basketball

Ander Herrera could be forgiven for struggling to impress with a basketball in his hands.

After all, the Manchester United midfielder is a relatively modest 6ft, whilst the NBA’s best-known star LeBron James stands at 6ft 8ins – and he isn’t that big for a basketball player!

However, Herrera, who is a dynamic holding midfielder, wasn’t to be deterred as the £29m summer signing landed a brilliant ‘lay up’ at the club’s training ground facility.

“After twenty attempts…” Herrera wrote on Instagram.

Now, we’d like to see Marouane Fellaini, who is a gigantic – at least in football terms – 6ft 4ins, or perhaps Juan Mata balancing perilously on Herrera’s shoulders.

Herrera seems to have settled into life at Old Trafford following his move from Athletic Bilbao in the summer, joining David De Gea, Mata and Angel di Maria for a Unicef dinner last week.

“#UNICEF dinner,” Herrera posted.
