Wenger delivers latest Arsenal injury update ahead of Swansea trip
Jack Wilshere is fit and ready for Arsenal's Premier League trip to Swansea City on Sunday
Jack Wilshere will return to the Arsenal squad for Sunday’s trip to Swansea City but Mikel Arteta is out with a hamstring injury, Arsene Wenger has confirmed.
Wilshere has missed Arsenal’s last two games with a minor knee complaint and a virus but is fit to face the Swans.
Arteta was substituted in the second half of Tuesday’s 3-3 Champions League draw with Anderlecht at Emirates Stadium after suffering a hamstring strain.
“Jack is alright, he is back in the squad for Sunday,” Wenger said.
“Arteta will be out for Sunday. He has a mild hamstring strain and he will be out for a short period because it’s a grade one. He should be back after the internationals.
Wenger also revealed that defender Laurent Koscielny could return soon after the forthcoming international break, while striker Olivier Giroud is due to return to training next week.
“Koscielny has a little chance to be back after the international break,” Wenger continued. “Giroud joins in training next week.”
He added: “Mathieu Debuchy, David Ospina and Mesut Ozil are progressing very well, but of course they are not available before or straight after the international break.”
