Wes Brown: Man United’s Anderson my least intelligent team-mate
Wes Brown says Anderson still can't speak English despite his seven-year Manchester United stay
Wes Brown has labelled Manchester United midfielder Anderson as the least intelligent player that the Sunderland defender has played with.
The Black Cats centre-half was team-mates with the Brazil international for four seasons at Old Trafford before Brown moved to Stadium of Light in 2011.
The United pair were part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s side that beat Chelsea on penalties to win the club’s third European Cup in Moscow in 2008.
Asked by Sunderland’s website to name the least intelligent player that he has played with during an 18-year career, Brown replied:
“Not going to say anyone at Sunderland because that will get back.
“I’d go Anderson. Just because when I was with him he was there for four years and I honestly still don’t think he can speak English.”
Unsurprisingly, Brown named United’s Champions League triumph as his favourite match of his long career at United and Sunderland.
“The Champions League final against Chelsea [was my favourite game]. I managed to play most of that season at right back and we managed to get to the final and win the game,” Brown added.
