Santi Cazorla reserved special praise for Danny Welbeck after the striker headed Arsenal to a 1-0 victory over West Brom on Saturday.

The England international rose highest to power home Cazorla’s cross in the 60th minute at The Hawthorns.

The victory came after two successive Premier League defeats for Arsene Wenger’s men and hoisted them up to fourth place in the table.

And man-of-the-match Cazorla was thrilled with the Gunners’ performance, as well as Welbeck’s goal.

“It was an important game for us,” said Cazorla. “We needed to win because we lost the last two games. For the confidence of the team it was important today and we played very well.

“I understand it’s easy for Danny. When I play with him, it’s good.

“It was a good performance from the team and we need to continue to play as we did today.”
