Arsenal and Man United are title rivals, declares Eden Hazard
Eden Hazard hails Chelsea's 'important' 3-0 victory over Spurs
Eden Hazard says Chelsea needed to beat Tottenham Hotspur to stay ahead of their title rivals, including Arsenal and Manchester United.
The Belgium international broke the deadlock against the north London side in the 19th minute before Chelsea legend Didier Drogba doubled the home side’s lead.
It was an important victory because we lost two points last weekend
Chelsea substitute Loic Remy wrapped up three points in the second with his second Premier League goal of the season, restoring the Blues’s six-point advantage.
“It was not easy because they [Spurs] dominated the early part of the match,” Hazard told Chelsea’s website. “We then showed our efficiency better than in the previous match against Sunderland.
“It’s a derby, it’s important to win and to continue with three points because other title rivals, like Man City, Man United and Arsenal, won as well.”
Hazard added: “It was an important victory because we lost two points last weekend. We are six points ahead and we want it to stay like that.”
Hazard has scored five goals and made one assist in 14 Premier League appearances this season.
