Paulo Dybala has dealt Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur a blow after the striker revealed that he expects to sign a new Palermo deal.

The 21-year-old Argentine has been attracting interest from the north London pair after an impressive start to the Serie A campaign.

Dybala scored in the first half as Palermo drew 2-2 with Torino on Saturday, taking his tally to seven goals in 14 top-flight appearances.

However, the former Instituto man is expecting to pen a new contract with Palermo, adding that he isn’t fazed by a £40m price tag slapped on his head.

“With the director and with Zamparini we are talking about renewal, I think it will come to an agreement,” Dybala told Rai Sport.

“The president said I’m worth 40 million? I do not think so, my duty is to take the field. To know that someone like that thinks highly of me fills me with pride.”

Dybala has scored 15 goals in 75 Serie A appearances following his move to Palermo from Argentina in 2012.
