Sporting Lisbon have received “many offers” for William Carvalho, manager Marco Silva has revealed.

The Portugal international has been heavily linked with Premier League trio Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United since the summer transfer window.

Carvalho has made one assist in 16 appearances in all competitions this season, and he is expected to start against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

And Sporting boss Silva acknowledged that the 22-year-old midfielder is a target for Premier League clubs ahead of the January transfer window.

“William is a target for English teams, but I want him to play his game,” Silva is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.

“He’s not playing at the same level as last season because last season he was a surprise, but he’s improving. William has many offers. Let’s wait until January.”

Carvalho has scored four goals in 39 top-flight appearances in Portuguese top-flight.

Do you think William Carvalho be a good signing?
