Arsenal’s Joel Campbell: I’m developing as a player
Joel Campbell insists he is happy at Arsenal despite a lack of football
Joel Campbell is confident that he is improving despite a lack of first-team football at Arsenal.
The Costa Rica international made a rare start as the north London side were 4-1 winners against Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Campbell failed to open his goal-scoring account for the season as Lukas Podolski and Aaron Ramsey both scored twice against Gala in Istanbul.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a potential loan move in January, but Campbell is adamant that he is happy at The Emirates.
“[It] was a chance for those who haven’t played much, like me,” Campbell said.
“I think we made the most of it in the best way by winning in such a difficult scenario.”
Campbell added: “I’m confident that I’m developing as a player. I will work step by step and wait for my chance.
“I am happy here. I’m learning every day and hopefully my chance will come.”
Campbell has failed to score in seven appearances in all competitions this season.
