Brendan Rodgers responds to Raheem Sterling Liverpool exit talk
Brendan Rodgers pours cold water on claims that Raheem Sterling is not happy at Liverpool
Brendan Rodgers insists that Rahaeem Sterling is happy at Liverpool.
The England international’s future has been a source of speculation in recent weeks amid reports that he is feeling unsettled on Merseyside.
Sterling has three years left on his current Liverpool deal, which is said to be worth around £30,000 a week.
However, the Northern Irishman says that there is no truth in the reports that Sterling could be set to quit Anfield.
“It’s up to the club and his representatives to sort out the deal but there’s no unhappiness,” said Rodgers.
Speaking last month, Sterling said: “The club has spoken to my representatives and hopefully something can be done really soon.
“Hopefully I can achieve the goals I want to achieve here at Liverpool in years to come. I am happy to be here for as long as possible. I am just happy to play football at this football club for many years to come.”
