Brendan Rodgers admits there are issues in the Liverpool dressing room that have affected the “team ethos”.

The Reds manager was speaking after the Merseyside outfit suffered a disappointing 3-0 defeat by bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

In every dressing room there have always been issues, but it is not something I discuss outside of the dressing room

And Rodgers, who is coming under increasing pressure following a seventh defeat in 16 league games, wants Liverpool to rediscover their spirit from last season.

“We have to recapture the team ethos. With the emphasis of the team, it is clear to me that we are searching to find solutions,” Rodgers is quoted as saying.

“The players are working hard, the players have given everything, they are pressing and they are working.

“In every dressing room there have always been issues, but it is not something I discuss outside of the dressing room. The players are honest but we are not getting results.

“I can’t fault the commitment of the players because they gave everything.”
