Aaron Ramsey hailed a job well done after helping to fire Arsenal to a 4-1 victory over Galatasaray on Tuesday night.

With their passage to the last 16 already secure, the result was not enough to earn the Gunners top spot in their group after Borussia Dortmund’s 1-1 draw with Anderlecht.

Lukas Podolski opened the scoring with a sublime finish in the third minute in Turkey, with Ramsey adding another shortly after.

The Wales international then scored again after half an hour, before Wesley Sneijder pulled one back for the home side with two minutes to go.

There was still time for Podolski to score in stoppage time as Arsene Wenger’s men bounced back from their 3-2 defeat at Stoke.

“We came here wanting to win and we managed that, we’re happy we won the game,” said Ramsey.

“We finished on a high in the group and now we’re looking forward to seeing who we’ll face in the next round.

“We scored a few goals tonight and took full advantage of the opportunities.

“We came here with a few players making their first appearance tonight and it was nice to come here and nearly come away with what we needed to finish top.”
