Gary Neville may be a Red Devils legend, but it didn’t stop the former right-back trolling Manchester United’s Twitter account.

The 20-time English champions were engaging their 3.9m followers with a five-question quiz on all things United on Tuesday afternoon.

When they asked which Red Devils player had scored the most Premier League goals as a defender, Neville decided to have some fun.

United aficionados will know that the answer to the question is Irish defender Denis Irwin with 18 strikes, which is 13 more than eight-time Premier League winner Neville.

And the Red Devils couldn’t resist a cheeky reply to their legendary defender, which of course provoked a reply from Neville, who dug deep into the football annuals to find his career goals.
