Liverpool defender fires warning at Arsenal ahead of Anfield showdown
Kolo Toure is targeting victory over Arsene Wenger's Arsenal side at Anfield on Sunday
Kolo Toure has warned Arsenal that Liverpool plan to make their home advantage count when they host the Gunners at Anfield on Sunday.
Brendan Rodgers’ Reds suffered a disappointing 3-0 defeat by Manchester United in their last Premier League outing but returned to winning ways with a 3-1 League Cup quarter-final win over Bournemouth on Wednesday.
And former Gunners defender Toure says that the Merseyside club will be desperate for the three points this weekend.
“We only think about the next game, which is Arsenal,” Toure told Liverpool’s website.
“It’ll be a really tough game [against Arsenal] because at the moment, I think after the loss we had against [Manchester] United, we need the three points. We’ll play at home and will take advantage of that.
“We will try to play our game, passing the ball well and fighting for every ball, and try to get the three points.”
