Petr Cech won’t be leaving Chelsea in the January transfer window, according to the goalkeeper’s agent.

The Czech Republic international has been relegated to second choice at Stamford Bridge this season following Thibaut Courtois’s return from loan.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for the three-time Premier League winner as Brendan Rodgers looks to provide Simon Mignolet with more competition.

But Cech’s agent Viktor Kolar ruled out a move away from the west London club amid reports Serie A outfit Roma are interested in the shot stopper.

“There has not been contact with Roma and certainly Petr isn’t going to be moving in the January transfer window,” Kolar told Rete Sport.

Earlier this week, Liverpool legend Phil Thompson said he would support Liverpool’s bid to sign Cech.

“If you’re putting me in the hot seat at Liverpool, I would certainly have to think of it [a move for Cech],” Thompson told Sky Sports News.

“Petr Cech is still one of the best goalkeepers in the league. He can’t be happy sitting on the bench all the time at Chelsea.”
