Liverpool transfers: Swansea want ‘astronomical fee’ for Wilfried Bony
Garry Monk is adamant that Wilfried Bony won't leave Swansea City
Garry Monk has reiterated that Swansea City will only sell Wilfried Bony if the Welsh club receive an “astronomical” offer.
The Ivory Coast international, who has scored six goals in 13 league games, has been heavily linked with a move to struggling Liverpool in recent weeks.
However, Swansea manager Monk is adamant that the Welsh outfit have no intention of selling their prized asset, insisting Bony is committed to the Swans.
“We’re not a selling club, we don’t have to sell anyone,” said Monk.
“This is the start of who is going where with the window, but we’re very much committed with our players and they’re committed to us.
He added: “He wants to score goals, that’s his job. He enjoys it, that’s what he lives for and hopefully he continues that.
“I’ve said many times before in football that money does dictate things but it would take an astronomical fee for anyone to take him anywhere.”
Bony has scored 22 goals in 46 appearances following his £12m move from Vitesse in 2013.
