Chris Smalling has warned Manchester United’s top-four rivals that Louis van Gaal’s side have their confidence back.

The Red Devils are enjoying a four-game winning streak which has helped to propel the Red Devils up to fourth place in the table.

And United right-back Smalling is confident that the 20-time English champions can extend their winning run ahead of their trip to Southampton on Monday.

“Yes I think we can. I think at the moment we are in such a good run of form. We have got that belief back,” Smalling is quoted as saying.

“Now we will work hard for the rest of the week because we have got two big games next week (that could) put us up there with the boys around us.

“We have had two good performances where we have played some good football. If we can keep this run going I think we will get better.”

United are a point behind third-place Saints ahead of their clash at St Mary’s.
