Man United star Radamel Falcao lifts lid on his English heritage
Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao reveals that his great-grandfather was born in Yorkshire
Radamel Falcao has revealed that his great-grandfather was born in Yorkshire before moving to Colombia.
The 28-year-old striker, who joined the Red Devils on a season-long loan deal from Monaco in the summer, has scored one goal and made two assists in the league so far this season.
And the Colombia international has lifted the lid on his English roots.
“My maternal great-grandfather was born in Yorkshire but was contracted to work for a company who had a base in Colombia,” Falcao told Inside United.
“So I have English blood running through my veins!”
Falcao’s father also recently revealed that he tried to get an English passport for his son.
“Falcao was probably about 13 so I went down to the embassy thinking that a British passport would help him with a move to Europe,” Falcao’s father told the Daily Mail. “But unfortunately it got rejected.”
