Nemanja Matic is confident that Chelsea can cope without Diego Costa against Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

The Spain international picked up his fifth booking of the season as Chelsea were held to a goalless draw by Sunderland on Saturday evening.

Costa has scored 11 goals in 11 Premier League games this season following his £32m move to the west London side from Atletico Madrid.

But Blues midfielder Matic is backing Didier Drogba and Loic Remy to step up in the absence of the prolific 26-year-old striker.

“I’m not scared,” Matic told reporters.

“Of course we need to have everybody available but in Didier Drogba and Loic Remy, we have good strikers.”

Drogba has scored four goals this season, whilst Remy has netted two strikes.
