Mesut Ozil has taken to Instagram to thank his fans for their ‘get well soon’ messages as the Arsenal playmaker continues his recovery from injury.

The 26-year-old has not featured for the north London side since damaging knee ligaments during the 2-0 defeat by Chelsea at the start of October.

Ozil, who joined the club from Real Madrid last year, is expected to make his Arsenal return in late December or early in the new year.

And the Germany international posted the picture above of himself reading some of his fan mail on Instagram on Monday evening.

Ozil wrote: “Sooo many get well soon messages … Wow, you’re simply amazing! Many thanks to every single one of you out there!”

The World Cup winner scored one goal and made one assist in six Premier League games this season before his injury setback.
