Ramires has taken to Instagram to express his “sadness” at his recent spell on the sidelines with Chelsea.

The Brazilian midfielder has not featured since the 5-0 win over Schalke last week due to a thigh injury and watched on from the sidelines as Jose Mourinho’s men beat Tottenham 3-0 on Wednesday.

Ramires posted the picture above on his Instagram account and wrote: “Very sad for not having played the last two games because of a thigh muscle pain that is being very persistent and we don’t wanna make it worse.

“But I am very happy to have seen up close our great victory over Tottenham!

“I hope to get better as soon as possible to get back on the field and help my teammates! Come on Chelsea!!!!”

Ramires has scored one goal and made three assists in seven Premier League appearances so far this season.
