Tim Cahill has taken to Instagram to thank Thierry Henry after the French striker left New York Red Bulls this week.

The former Arsenal man announced on Monday that his appearance on Saturday was his last for the MLS side.

And former Everton star Cahill, who has played for the Red Bulls since leaving the Merseyside club in 2012, posted a tribute to the 37-year-old on his Instagram account.

He shared the photo above and wrote: “Massive Thank you to this Legend Thierry TT Henry. It’s been a pleasure as you would say “MYMAN” haha, blessed to have learnt from one of football’s greatest.

“Doesn’t just scores goals but makes them which is just as important.

“I can’t say I have met anyone that’s more passionate about the game than TT.

“Thanks for taking care of me and my family and more importantly helping me to push for more in my game. Enjoy the next chapter brother.”
