Lukas Podolski declared that every Arsenal fan is sporting a smile after the Gunners were 1-0 winners against Southampton.

The Gunners left it late to beat the Saints after £35m signing Alexis Sanchez scored an 89th-minute winner at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal closed the gap on third-place Southampton to three points thanks to their win but remain two places outside the top four.

However, Germany international Podolski, who came on as a 81st-minute substitute, can’t wait for their trip to Stoke City on Saturday.

“3 wins in a row! Hope every Gunner out there has a smile on his face tonight. Thanks like always for the support!! Now big push for Saturday #GoodNightGunners #BringOnStoke #Poldi #AFC #Fans #RedArmy”

Podolski is still waiting to open his Premier League account after five appearances this season.
