Lukas Podolski has urged Arsenal to focus their energy on the Premier League after they finished the group stage with a 4-1 win at Galatasaray.

The Germany international scored in the third minute with a powerful finish before Aaron Ramsey doubled the visitors’s lead in the 11th minute in Istanbul.

The Arsenal midfielder scored a brilliant long-range strike to add a third before Podolski restored their three-goal cushion after Wesley Sneijder’s consolation.

And Podolski, who has been linked with a move away from Arsenal ahead of the January transfer window, heaped praise on the north London side.

Podolski wrote on Instagram: “Great performance from the whole team yesterday! No rest & focus on premier league now! #Poldi #UCL #GALvARS #AFC #Gunners”

Podolski has scored three goals in five Champions League appearances this season.
