Wayne Rooney has a decent record of scoring against Liverpool since moving to Manchester United in 2004.

The Red Devils captain has scored four goals against Merseyside outfit after his £30.75m switch to Old Trafford.

And 29-year-old forward recalled his strike against Liverpool to help United win 3-1 in the International Champions Cup final in pre-season.

Rooney wrote on Instagram: “TBT – Scoring against Liverpool in pre-season when we won the International Champions Cup. Big game coming up against them on Sunday!”

Brendan Rodgers’s side make the trip to the 20-time English champions on Sunday afternoon, looking to improve their form.

Meanwhile, Louis van Gaal’s side notched their fifth successive Premier League win thanks to their 2-1 win against Southampton.
