Ander Herrera and Wayne Rooney were among the players to take to social media to praise Manchester United’s performance after Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Stoke.

Goals from Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata handed Louis van Gaal’s side their fourth straight victory as the Red Devils tightened their grip on fourth place.

Midfielder Herrera posted the picture above on his Instagram account and wrote: “Great victory to continue the run. Now already thinking about the important match against Southampton. We want more!!”

Injured United captain Wayne Rooney, meanwhile, was pleased to see his team-mates notch up another victory.

He posted the photo below on his own account and wrote: “Good win last night and another 3 points. We’re on the right track and just need to keep going. Well done lads @manchesterunited.”

Goal-scorer Mata also took to the photo-sharing app, posting the photo below and writing: “Yes! Another important win! That’s the 4th in a row. Let’s keep going! Your support was amazing. @manchesterunited”

And goalkeeper David De Gea added: “Great victory today! Your support is key to maintain our victory streak. Now we want more! Come on @manchesterunited.”
