Ray Clemence says he feels sorry for under pressure Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

The Belgium international endured an error-strewn performance and scored an own goal at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night.

However, Adam Lallana, Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson all got on the score sheet following the shot stopper’s mistake to seal a 3-1 win.

But former Liverpool goalkeeper Clemence defended the 26-year-old shot stopper on Twitter, adding that Mignolet is lacking luck at the moment.

“Another brick in the wall with tonight’s @LFC win v Leicester. Another hard-working and improved performance,” Clemence wrote on Twitter.

“Feel sorry for “@sImonMignolet the luck you sometimes need is not with him at the moment #keeptheconfidence”

Mignolet joined Liverpool in a £9m deal from Sunderland in 2012.
