Sanogo, Ramsey and more: Stars pay tribute to Arsenal legend Henry

The tributes have been pouring in following news of Thierry Henry's retirement from football

Yaya Sanogo and Aaron Ramsey are among the Arsenal players to have paid tribute to Thierry Henry after the striker announced his retirement from football.

The Gunners legend confirmed his decision to hang up his boots on Tuesday aged 37 after leaving New York Red Bulls earlier this month.

News of the former Arsenal striker’s retirement has sent social media into overdrive, with Sanogo and Ramsey among the players to discuss Henry’s decision.

Sanogo wrote on his Facebook page: “Thank you for everything Titi. Your goals will stay in my mind forever. Respect to you, you are a LEGEND. #COYG.”

Meanwhile, Ramsey wrote on Twitter: “Congratulations on an outstanding career @ThierryHenry. Top player. Top guy. #Legend.”

And defender Hector Bellerin added: “Congratulations @ThierryHenry on a great career. True @arsenal legend!”

England legend Gary Lineker tweeted: “Congratulations to @ThierryHenry on a truly wonderful career. One of the great footballers of our time and a top bloke. Bonne chance.”

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge wrote: “Happy retirement to my hero and idol @ThierryHenry. Wish you all the best in the next chapter.”
