Steven Gerrard: I’ll make decision on Liverpool future when I’m ready
Steven Gerrard praises Liverpool's great team performance
Steven Gerrard says he will decide his Liverpool future when he is ready after the Reds captain inspired a 3-1 win at Leicester City.
The 34-year-old, who will become a free agent next summer, nudged Liverpool in front against the Foxes after Adam Lallana levelled following Simon Mignolet’s 22nd-minute own goal.
There is nothing to say, when there is the fans know I will come out and say it
Liverpool sealed three points courtesy of Jordan Henderson’s strike seven minutes from time, whilst Gerrard was denied a late penalty claim.
The retired England centurion refused to shed any light on his plans after Brendan Rodgers confirmed Gerrard had been offered a new deal ahead of their trip to the King Power Stadium.
“I will decide when I am ready,” Gerrard told BT Sport.
“There is nothing to say, when there is the fans know I will come out and say it. It was a great team performance, the headlines should be about that not me.”
On his third goal of the season, Gerrard added: “I am happy with the goal, even more pleased with the win. We are on the way up. We are a lot harder to beat. Come the end of the season we will be fighting for fourth.”
